Releasing their own perfume products is one of the common ventures that celebrities usually try. One of the famous celebrities who are enjoying plenty of success and profits with her scent is none other than pop princess Britney Spears. Britney Pears Eau da Parfume is one of the best-selling scents in the perfume market today. However, do you really know what goes into your favorite celebrity perfume?

Let’s take Ms. Spears’ Curious for instance. When you take a look at the bottle, you will see that some of the common ingredients are listed. These ingredients include Benzyl Benzoate, Eugenol and Limonene. However, Environmental Working Group and Campaign for Safe Cosmetics recently stated that at least 17 other ingredients of the perfume are not listed on the bottle.

These findings were included in the report that the two organizations recently released, entitled “Not So Sexy: The Health Risks of Secret Chemicals in Fragrances”. The report contained the results of studies done on about 27 fragrances that bear the name of celebrities such as Halle Berry and Jennifer Lopez. The report also stated that an average of 14 chemicals per bottle were not listed in the ingredients. These “secret” ingredients potentially disrupt hormones and cause allergic reactions.
